Alumni Profiles and Testimonials

Many alumni have gone on to positions in literacy organizations, doctoral studies in children’s literature, children’s book publishing and bookselling, master’s programs in education and children’s librarianship, or returned to their professional positions as teachers, teacher-librarians, and public librarians working with children and teens. A large number, after studying Creative Writing for Children within the MACL Program, have written children’s and young adult picture books and novels, including a winner of the Governor General’s Literary Award for Children’s Literature, for a book that began as a manuscript written as a thesis in the MACL Program.

In their own words, the testimonials offer insight into the creative, academic, and professional ways in which the MACL Program has influenced and shaped these graduates’ lives.
