We encourage prospective and current students who are Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada to apply for a SSHRC Canada Graduate Scholarship (CGS-M). We offer incoming students a $2000 entrance bursary, and in the case of exceptional candidates we may offer additional funding of up to $10,000 for the first year of study.
Each year the program hires two or three MACL students to help plan the Vancouver International Summer School in Children’s Literature and to organize the annual graduate student conference in children’s literature. For further information contact Rick Gooding, the program chair.
Many of our students have worked as Teaching Assistants in the Creative Writing Program. MACL students are also eligible to take the English Department’s graduate pedagogy workshop series, which qualifies them to work as TAs for English.
