Piper Foster’s Illustrated MACL Graduate Student Conference Reflections
The book has closed on the 2026 MACL Graduate Student Conference, which was given the theme of “Memories and Dreams.” As we remember all the wonderful people, presentations, ideas and connections that were shared at this summer’s conference, we also dream of new possibilities, opportunities and innovations in books and other media for young people. Piper Foster is a second year MACL student who dreamed up an innovative and engaging method of documenting the conference, and we invite you to explore her notes and illustrated reflections on the memories and dreams that were expressed at this year’s conference. MACL’s Nicola Kirk Presenting at The Child and The Book Conference 2025!
Nicola Kirk will be presenting her work, “From Everyday to Exceptional: Representations of Syrian Child Refugees Navigating their Changing Worlds in Youth Literature” at The Child and The Book Conference at Tilburg University in the Netherlands.
